How To Upload Pictures In Facebook Directly From Picasa

Posted by

Many Facebook users are annoyed with the Facebook photo uploader because it’s so slow and sometimes there’s a problem with it, but now, there are a lot of ways to upload pictures on your Facebook account by using third-party applications. One of them is the Picasa Uploader which is my favorite.

Picasa Uploader is a plugin that you can install on Picasa. It’s a fast way to upload photos to Facebook and it can really save your precious time and effort!

How to upload pictures in Facebook with Picasa Uploader:

1. Download and install Picasa for free.

2. Download and install Picasa Uploader.

3. Once installed, Facebook button will appear on the button tray.

4. To start uploading, choose the pictures you want to upload and click the Facebook button. A new window will open; wait for it to load. Click Start Upload.

Note: Facebook restricts you to 60 photos per album, so you won’t see any albums that can’t fit all of the newly uploaded photos.

Another Note: If you select “Create a New Album” but don’t enter a name, photos will be placed in a default “Picasa Photos” album which can hold up to 1000 photos. After you add photos, it’ll show up in your list in the future.

5. When you click the Start Upload button, Picasa prepares your images and sends them. This may take some time if you have a slow connection.

6. After uploading, your default browser will open and will direct you to the Facebook login page.

* If you encounter a problem, try to clear your browser’s cookies.

7. After logging in on your Facebook account, you’ll be transferred to the Upload Options page where you can choose an existing album or create a new one. When you’re done, just click the Send to Facebook button.

8. Picasa Uploader will start transferring your photos on your Facebook account. Once completed, click the Go to album on Facebook button.

9. Click Select All and Approve Selected Photos.

Hi, I have recently downloaded Picassa 3.9 and it would appear that the new version no longer has the facility to upload to facebook.  Is this so or am I missing something?  Possibly there is a plugin for Picassa to do this?

Needs the plugin re-installed.  Find it at https://apps.facebook.com/picasauploader/ . Hope this helps someone with the same problem!

Thanks Christian, that pretty much is what i have found to! Which is a pity. I wonder if it is even technically possible for the plugin to do it with some modifications / additions.
Lets hope

If ever I found a software or plugin that can directly upload photos to our fan page, I'll blog about it immediately. :-))

This uploader is great :-) , Just a question...
If you have a fan page associated with your FB profile, how would i go about uploading photos to the fan page instead of my profile ?:-) . (Especially since FB in there wisdom dont allow adding existing profile photos to fan page albums)

Hi Brian! I don't know if it's possible to upload pictures directly to Fan Page from the Picasa application. ?:-) I didn't see any option there that allow me to upload pictures to my fan page.
