On my previous post, I’ve shown you Twitterbar, a Firefox add-on that allows you to update your Twitter status from your address bar, and today, I’m going to show you another cool add-on that has more features!
FireStatus is a very cool Firefox add-on that lets you send and receive updates from Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed, Del.icio.us, and Identi.ca straight from your status bar just above your status bar!
How to use FireStatus:
1. Download and install FireStatus.
2. Once installed, you’ll see a fire icon on the right-side of your status bar.
To setup the add-on, right-click on the fire icon and click Preferences. Enter your username and password for each account you want to use.
* You may have noticed that Facebook doesn’t have a box for you to enter your username and password but don’t worry, if you check send updates/receive updates, you’ll be asked later on to login to your Facebook account.
3. If you check Twitter, a new window will appear asking you to authorize FireStatus to update your account, just enter your username and password and click OK.
4. If you check Facebook, you’ll be asked to login to your Facebook account and to allow FireStatus to update your account, just click Allow Status Updates.
5. To post an update, just click the FireStatus icon and a small toolbar window will popup just above the status bar. Type your status update in the box and check the accounts you want to update. When you’re done, click Send.
6. If you check to receive updates, you’ll receive popup notifications even if you’re doing something else like while you’re typing, etc.
Download FireStatus and enjoy!
