It’s very important for us to defrag our hard drive at least once or twice a month to prevent performance deterioration caused by file fragmentation over time. If you’re using your computer everyday, it is recommended to defrag your hard drive more often. A defrag reorganizes the fragmented files sequentially and speeds up data access. You can use the built-in Disk Defragmenter of Windows to defrag your hard drive. Just go to Start –> All Programs –> Accessories –> System Tools –> Disk Defragmenter.
