If the Smart Sharing plugin does not work on your website or if you simply want an alternative solution, you can try a similar plugin called CevherShare which also is a fully customisable floating sharing bar.

Note that the admin interface looks a bit messy, but it can be solved using this tutorial:

Hi Sam! I’m not familiar with Aperture plugin but I know Apture Site Bar which puts a toolbar at the upper part of your site. You can check it out along with other social sharing toolbars here: http://spedr.com/3i0wn

The plugin looks great but all that happens is I’m forced to subscribe to a newsletter I’ve no interest in, then I’m asked to verify my email address.

Then having gone through the process I still get no option to download the plugin just a confirmation that I’ve subscribed to the newsletter.

So the whole thing is just a stupid waste of time if you ask me.

So, I just wanted to come back and update in case anyone else has this problem. I’m wondering if it has something to do with disqus. Anyway, I had to manually insert tweet meme into the custom codes box:

and that worked :D

Really? That’s weird because Tweet meme is working well in my blog. Yes, you only have to enter your Twitter username without “@” or “http://”. :)

Thank you so much for this article, especially the dummy code for google buzz. I couldn’t find a sample anywhere and I would not have come up with that on my own.

For some reason my tweet meme isn’t working. I keep getting a 404 error. All I have to do is enter my twitter name, right? I don’t need the “@” or “http://…”?

Hi, I'm sorry but I already deleted the plugin. Just enter your email address and confirm your email and you'll instantly receive the Smart Sharing plugin link. If you don't like to share your email address, you can try the Digg Digg which has more features :)
