Smart Sharing Plugin – Put Floating Share Buttons On Your WordPress Blog
The first time I saw the floating share buttons in Mashable, I already want to install it in my blog because it’s so cool and I know that it will help my readers to easily submit my blog posts to different social networking sites. I immediately searched it in WordPress Plugin Directory and I used different keywords but I cannot find it, but luckily, when I searched Google for “floating share buttons”, Smart Sharing plugin appeared!
What is Smart Sharing:
Smart sharing adds a floating box with social media buttons in single posts only. By default, you can pick between Retweet, Facebook, Digg, and StumbleUpon. But you are not limited to these choices because there is an option to add your own custom codes.
Smart Sharing is probably the best “imitation” of the Mashable’s floating share buttons and you can see the live demo here in my blog (it’s on the left-side that scrolls down as you go down).
If you like to install this in your WordPress blog, check this out!
1. Go to http://www.wpbeginner.com/smart-sharing-plugin-for-wordpress/ and enter your email address to download the plugin. Check your email address to confirm your subscription. Once you confirmed your subscription, you’ll receive an email that includes the download link for the Smart Sharing plugin. Download and install the plugin.
2. Once installed, go to the Smart Sharing settings and configure the plugin.
* For more information, click here.
3. What’s good about this plugin is that you can customize it easily even if you’re a beginner like me. You can add other social media network icons like “Google Buzz”, Reddit, ShareThis, etc.
You can add the other buttons/icons in the Custom Codes box. You can use the CSS class “sharer” as a separator. Here’s an example if you want to add the “Google Buzz button”:
4. You may also notice that when you activate the plugin, you’ll see a new box in your post write panel. This box will allow you to have a custom settings for a specific post.
Example, your default settings is: Facebook, StumbleUpon, Retweet buttons are enabled for every posts. Now, if you want to enable the Digg button for a specific post, you can use the Override Global Settings in your post write panel.
Smart Sharing plugin is a really great way to get more votes and traffic from the different social media networks. Download the free plugin now and you’ll never regret it!

Hi, I’m sorry but I already deleted the plugin. Just enter your email address and confirm your email and you’ll instantly receive the Smart Sharing plugin link. If you don’t like to share your email address, you can try the Digg Digg which has more features :)

Thank you so much for this article, especially the dummy code for google buzz. I couldn’t find a sample anywhere and I would not have come up with that on my own.
For some reason my tweet meme isn’t working. I keep getting a 404 error. All I have to do is enter my twitter name, right? I don’t need the “@” or “http://…”?
Thank you!

Really? That’s weird because Tweet meme is working well in my blog. Yes, you only have to enter your Twitter username without “@” or “http://”. :)

So, I just wanted to come back and update in case anyone else has this problem. I’m wondering if it has something to do with disqus. Anyway, I had to manually insert tweet meme into the custom codes box:
<a title="Retweet" class="Tweet Meme" href="http://www.twitter.com"
tweetmeme_source = ‘tweetmeme’;
tweetmeme_service = ‘ow.ly’;
and that worked :D
