The two major concerns of Internet users when surfing the web are security and privacy. Of course, we all try our best to protect our online identity that’s why we install these Anti-virus or Internet Security apps to prevent the hackers or anyone from accessing our online accounts. However, to make sure that your account details are safe from prying eyes, it’s good to use a password manager app that will help you stay safe online.

Before, I’ve already featured Sticky Password which lets you store all your account details and helps you login to any website and applications with a single click, and now, I found a better way to do this. Say hello to Rublon, the easiest and most secure way of logging in!

Rublon – login to your favorite website by scanning a unique Rublon code

I know how much you hate typing in your username and password every time you log in to Twitter or Facebook, but you can forget about it now, thanks to Rublon technology. You just have to scan a unique Rublon code that appears on your computer display with your mobile phone to login.

Rublon is currently available for users of mobile phones based on the Android system and the iPhone (more platforms are in the works).

Rublon – how to use it:

1. To use it, you just need to install the Rublon app in your Android or iOS device. Once installed, you’ll be asked to register an account.

2. After registration, you need to login to Rublon website by clicking the Login button and scanning the Rublon code that will pop up. Once you’re logged in, you must add the bookmarklet to your Bookmarks toolbar. (The developers are  now working on a web browser plugin that will replace the bookmarklet)

3. To login to Facebook or other supported websites, just click the Rublon bookmarklet, and a new window with the Rublon code will popup. Scan it with your mobile phone using the Rublon app. Then, enter your username and password on your mobile phone and press the “Login” button (only once for each website).

Unlocking a new website for Rublon costs 25 points that you can earn by inviting a friend. Also, you’ll receive 100 points after registering an account.

How secure is Rublon?

The safety of your passwords you type in to your Rublon app is ensured because they are stored only on your mobile phone and are securely encrypted with a 2048-bit RSA key. They can be only decrypted with the help of the Rublon servers. Furthermore, every connection from the Rublon app is protected via SSL. Both technologies are used by financial institutions to secure online banking.
