Isn’t it cool to run Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Maps as a stand-alone application on your desktop without opening a web browser?

GMDesk is an Adobe AIR application that lets you run Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Maps as a stand-alone application to do all your mail handling, calendar event reading etc with. No need to open it up in a web browser, or have it clutter your workspace.

Windows Live Writer (WLW) is really a must-have for all the bloggers. It is widely used by many bloggers around the world because it’s so easy to use and it makes blogging more fun, easy, and exciting! It is free to download and it offers a lot of features that you will surely love! Aside from that, it also allows us to install plugins that will increase the functionality of WLW.

Twitter Notify is one of the WLW plugins that I really love! After I publish new post, it will automatically generate a TinyURL and sends a Tweet about it. It really saves my time because I don’t have to do it manually.

There are certain programs that Window will start every time you boot up your system, and during the startup stage, they’re all competing for a slice of your CPU speed. Extra or unwanted items in the startup list will definitely increase your startup time.

If you’re not sure about a certain item, no problem! You can search it on Google and check if it’s important. By disabling extra startup programs, it will speed up your startup by up to 250%!
