Free Online OCR – Copy Text From An Image And Convert It To Editable Text Document

by

Before I give you these free online OCR services, let’s define first what is “OCR”?

OCR stands for “Optimal Character Recognition” and it refers to the process by which scanned images are electronically “read” to convert them into editable text. This conversion is performed after scanning, and may output formatted text or text-only files (flat ASCII files).

What’s the importance of OCR software?

OCR software enables you to extract the text from an image (photographs and digital camera captured) and PDF scanned documents and then convert it into editable text document.

Why should you use this?

If you need the text from an image and you don’t want to type in the whole text, that’s the time you should use these OCR services.

Actually, there are a lot of OCR software out there but most of them are expensive and you have to install them on your computer but if you use these online OCR services, you don’t have to install anything and it’s free! You don’t even have to register to use their awesome tool. All you have to do is prepare your image file or PDF, upload it and these online OCR services will do the rest!

Error In OCR ResultThat’s why it’s very important to double check or proofread the text that’s returned to you just to be sure.
