Fences – Organize And Arrange Your Desktop Icons Easily

by

One of the most common issues for computer users, most especially those who have a lot of files and applications installed on their computer, is the messy desktop filled with shortcut icons or folders and files. While many people think that there’s no easy solution for this annoying problem, actually, they’re wrong. There are actually a lot of organizing tools that you can download and help you clean your desktop in a snap, and one of them is Fences.

Fences – Organize your desktop for a clutter-free workspace

Fences is a popular Windows enhancement tool that helps you organize your desktop icons into categories. This is actually a very useful program especially if you want to keep your workspace clutter free. To use this, first you need to create a Fence by dragging the right button of your mouse until you form a rectangle then “Create new Fence” button will appear. Just click that and enter a name for your Fence.

Fences - Enter Name

Once done, just click the OK button and a semi-transparent box will appear – this is your Fence where you can easily throw and group the icons in your desktop. You can create as many Fence as you like until all your icons have been group together.

You can also adjust the size and the transparency of the Fences you create based on your liking.

Fences - Options

You also don’t need to worry if you put too many icons in a Fence since a scroll button automatically appears when you need to check all the items in it.

Aside from grouping your icons into different categories, Fences also allows you to hide/show your desktop instantly by just double click on an empty space in your desktop.

Notice the big change?

Fences used to be a Freeware but when Stardock updated it to Version 2.0 with more features, it became a paid app already and you need to spend $7.49 to purchase it. Well for me, I’m still very happy and contented with the freeware version of the app. If you want to grab the FREE copy as well, you may download it here.
