By default, the Send to menu only includes destinations such as Desktop, Mail Recipient, and Compressed Folder. But wouldn’t it be great if you could add more shortcuts such as DropBox, SkyDrive, and Google Drive to that menu? In fact you can!

How to add more shortcuts to Windows’ Send to Menu:

1. Open Windows Explorer or any folder.

2. In Explorer, copy-paste the text below in an empty area inside the address bar.

%APPDATA%/Microsoft/Windows/SendTo

3. Now you should be looking at the folder containing Windows’ send-to shortcuts. You then need to find the Windows shortcut to Dropbox, SkyDrive, or whatever and just copy-paste it inside this folder.

6. You’re done! Try it on any file. Just right click, choose Send to and you’ll now see your new shortcuts in the options.

SkyDrive for Windows and Mac

SkyDrive for Windows and Mac is definitely the easiest way to access your SkyDrive from your computer. When you install it, a SkyDrive folder is created on your PC. Everything you put in this folder is automatically kept in sync between your computers (PC or Mac) and SkyDrive.com, so you can get to your latest files from virtually anywhere. Whenever you add, change, or delete files in one location, all the other locations will be updated.

To add files, just drag and drop them to your SkyDrive folder and they will automatically be synced with the cloud. You can also easily organize your files and folders, just like any other folder!

Fetching files through SkyDrive.com

Another killer feature of SkyDrive for Windows is the ability to turn your PC into your own private cloud to browse your files and stream videos from anywhere through SkyDrive.com. This feature is great if you forget something on your home PC and need to fetch it or just copy it quickly to SkyDrive.

To use this, just install the desktop client on your computer and enable Make files on this PC available to me on my other device in the Settings. Next, login to SkyDrive.com and click your computer name below the Computers tab at the left side of the screen. You will then need to input an access code to access your remote PC. Once done, you can now view and access your PC (if SkyDrive desktop is running) from SkyDrive web interface.

The only thing missing in this app is the ability to choose which folders to sync with the computer, unlike DropBox which offers selective syncing. Another disappointment is that this app doesn’t work on Windows XP.

Lastly, for those who have previously signed up with SkyDrive, you can still enjoy your 25GB free storage but for the new users, they will only get free 7GB upon signup. That’s still more generous than the free 2GB of DropBox and free 5GB of Google Drive.

How to bypass Safely Remove Hardware option when unplugging USB devices:

1. Open Device Manager. You may find it by searching “Device Manager” in the Start menu search field or in the Control Panel.

2. Look for USB Devices/Disk Drives. Click Disk Drives to expand and reveal your internal and external drives. The USB devices will always have “USB” included in their names.

3. Choose Quick Removal. Double-click the USB device for which you want to disable the Safely Remove Hardware option. A new window will open, go to Policies tab. You’ll see two removal policies: Quick Removal and Better Performance. If you choose Better Performance, you will need to use the Safely Remove Hardware option every time you disconnect your USB while the Quick Removal policy lets you disconnect the device safely without using the said option.

Zerg Rush – Latest Google Easter Egg

When you go to Google.com and type in zerg rush, you’ll see the O’s in Google starting to take over the page. Don’t panic! It’s just the Google’s version of zerg who are trying to invade your results.

In “Starcraft,” zerg are portrayed as a terrifying and ruthless amalgamation of biologically advanced, arthropodal aliens that hunts down and assimilates advanced species across the galaxy.

In order to save your search results, you need to kill these O’s by tapping on them. You can even see the lives of the enemies as well as the lives of each search result as if you’re really playing the game. There’s also a score tabulator at the upper right side that tracks your hit count, showing you how many Os you’ve defeated and your average rate per minute.

Once the Os have completely wiped out everything on the search result page, they will slowly form into two Gs which stand for Good Game. If you manage to get a good score, you can then share it to your Google+ account by tapping the Share Score button.

Aging Booth – the app that makes you look old

Aging Booth is a cool and somehow scary Android/iOS app that  makes you look old. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant at first to try it on my picture since I’m scared of seeing my face with wrinkles and other lines that’s why I decided to try it on someone else’s picture first – my girlfriend (lol!).

The effect is just so awesome and it looks so real but I was very delighted to see the result because she still looks so great even with so many lines on her face.

Aside from the realistic effects, another great thing about Aging Booth is that it’s so easy to use just like BaldBooth and FatBooth. You just need to launch it on your phone, take a picture using your camera or choose from your gallery and after choosing a picture, wait for face detection then adjust the markers. After a few seconds, you’ll now see your face after 40+ years! You can shake your device to see the before and after views.

AgingBooth works best with people between the ages of 15 and 60.

SimSimi – the cutest chatting robot

SimSimi is an app created by the Korean tech company, ISMaker, that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to converse with the users. It’s a “super-duper” robot as what others describe it since it gives a very fast and accurate response to most of the questions.

Simsimi’s vocabulary grows by your input. You can teach Simsimi your own words as other users teach their own ones too. If Simsimi has no data to answer your former message, it will say ‘I HAVE NO RESPONSE’. Then you can select the ‘TEACH’ tab and instruct it your own words in a paired form of request & response. Once you teach Simsimi a pair of words, it will make a response with those words immediately (approx. 3 minutes).

To start a talk session with SimSimi, just launch the app and he will greet you with a cheerful chat! You can then ask him some questions and you’ll be surprised with his answers.

What I like most about SimSimi is that he knows a lot of languages too – yes, he’s multilingual and he even knows Filipino! He’s even aware with all the latest issues here in the Philippines.

Just a warning before trying out SimSimi, he can be sometimes rude when answering your questions. He also knows some nasty words taught by some abusive users that can cause emotional distress to some people. However, you can disable offensive language in the settings if you don’t want to get offended by SimSimi’s response, but not all bad words can be filtered out though.

SimSimi is currently available for Android and iOS devices. Another alternative way to chat with SimSimi is by using the web version.
