My girlfriend and I have been using Chikka for quite a long time already. We use it for emergency purposes like when we ran out of load. For those of you who are not familiar with Chikka, it is an instant messenger that lets users send free text messages to any mobile number in the Philippines.
If you’re from other countries and you still want to keep in touch with your loved-ones here in the Philippines but don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can just sign up for a Chikka account. Just go to Chikka.com and sign up for free! To use Chikka, you can either install the Chikka Text Messenger to your Windows/Mac/Linux computer, or use the web app.
You can connect your mobile phone to your Chikka account so you can still receive SMS even when you’re offline.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Chikka limits the number of text messages you can send in a day for each mobile telecommunications carrier but it goes back to the default number at the end of each day. (Please see the table below for reference)

Every time your friend replies to you, you get to earn more text credits so you can just continue texting each other.

Chikka can also be used on your Android or iOS devices. I’ve already tried the Chikka Messenger for Android and it’s just awesome! For me it’s much easier to use than the web app. I can easily browse the contacts on my phone and quickly send them free SMS over Wi-Fi.

i mean i have no problem with chikkamessenger v. 4 before. But this chikkamessenger v. 5 I could no longer receive any messages from my family in the philippines maybe they wont get my messages i sent to them.
same here i am also in america but seems like whenever i texted them they wont get my messages, is there anyone know about this chikkamessenger v.5? I have problem with chikkamessenger v.4 before but this new one it really sucks me. Please help me.

Tnx.. this info is a great help! even though im using chikka for years... what i was looking for is here... Each time your friend reply to you, you'll get text credits! That's great. Im here in saudi and I ask my friend to reigister to UNLI txt from smart so that we can text each other the whole day! Correct me if im wrong.

Really? It was only limited to 3 texts before? I'm hoping that in the near future, they'll make it unlimited free texts :P But I guess they won't let it happen because it may be used by other people to send SPAM.
yeah... it is... no wonder, when I check its text limit... Yes spam at least for 6 message... but you can block the first message my replying someting like "block" i guess?... hey pal.. its Unlimited if your friend (smart user) register to chikka UNLI for 20 pesos ^^
@theheatweb nope, im 80% sure, ive tried and I dont know yet if there's any error in my method, Another tip, since theres 160 words limit, try using PC, by default your message will be forwarded to their mobile, But you must limit your text to 459words (including spaces) use microsoft word. Although, I havnt confirmed yet wether you gain credits if your partner register unli text to chikka, But if someone replied without using UNLI promo then it will sure let you send more message,
So there it is, Use "Send To PC" so you'll have 459 words and you can send it 5 times!

Another reminder,, who knows it might become helpful to others just like me, I have 3-5 sim cards I think since 2002.. I keep losing em but I have them registered to my chikka, so Just incase you lost your cp or you're always online, you better turn of the option "Forward messages to my CP when Im offline" so that when you sign in, you can read the messages, I still have the message of my GF 5 years ago ^_^.
