Check Your Facebook Account And RSS Feeds From Any Websites You Visit

Posted by

Do you wish there’s a way to check your Facebook account even if you’re viewing other websites? Let me introduce to you Buckts, a Firefox add-on that lets you access your Facebook account and RSS feeds from any webpage you visit!

Buckts is a Firefox add-on that helps you stay connected to the things you do most on the web: socializing, searching, shopping and staying current to the latest news from your favorite sites. From your Buckts dock bar, your content opens up in a browser overlay window that is accessible everywhere you are on the web.

To know more about Buckts, check out their video below:

How to use Buckts:

1. Download and install Buckts. Once installed, restart your browser.

2. A new toolbar will appear just above your status bar; that’s the Buckts toolbar/dock bar. Click the Register button (don’t worry, you just have to enter a username and a password, that’s really it!). Once done, login with your username and password.

3.2. Click the Facebook icon on the Buckts toolbar. Now, click the link “here” to adjust your Facebook permissions. Click Connect with Facebook. A new window will open, click Connect.

3.3. You’ll be transferred back to the Buckts website, click Grant Permissions.Click Grant Permissions

You’re done! Click the Facebook icon on the Buckts toolbar to check your account from any webpage you visit.

4. It’s time to setup our RSS Feeds.

4.1. By default, Buckts includes the RSS feeds of Wired, CNN, and ESPN. However, you can still delete it and add other feeds that you want. Just right-click over the RSS icon on the Buckts toolbar then the Buckts Feed Manager will popup.

4.2. Click the pencil icon beside the RSS feed that you want to delete. Click Delete this feed.

* You may also notice another icon in the Buckts toolbar and that’s called Shopping Buckts but unfortunately it’s still waiting for approval from Mozilla. Here’s their official statement from their blog:

Our shopping buckts is in the Mozilla queue waiting for approval, so we should see it live very soon. We partnered with ShopGala which “is your complete source for internet coupon codes, promotional offers and free shipping deals.” The great thing about our shopping buckt is never having to search for a discount or coupon code for an online retail site.

NOTE:

1. If many people are using your PC, make sure that you logout before shutting it down to prevent others from accessing your Facebook account.

2. If you want to hide/show the Buckts toolbar, just click its icon on your status bar.

Buckts is great tool to bring all the important things you want in one place! If you want to have an instant access to your latest updates from your Facebook friends and feeds from your favorite news and blog sites delivered right from your browser, it’s time for you to use Buckts!

Hopefully, they’d be able to include Twitter on their future updates and I’m sure that that would be very awesome!

Buckts feed manager doesn't pop up when I right click on it

If you're having issue with this addon, please contact the developer. Thank you.

Ah - I was logged out. That seems to be why!

I can't find anything about RSS feed on the toolbar, so no idea how to remove or add feeds, which is all I wanted this thing for!
