How To Change Desktop Wallpaper In Windows 7 Starter Edition

I already have this Acer Aspire One notebook with Windows 7 Starter Edition for almost a year now and I never change its wallpaper since I bought it. However, when I decided to change the wallpaper today, I couldn’t find the option. I remember I’ve seen it before when I right-click on the desktop, then the Personalize option was there where I can easily change the wallpaper. However, that feature is not available anymore probably it disappeared after I reformat my notebook. Well anyway, good thing there’s an easy way to change the desktop wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition and I’ll share it with you after the break.

Let’s bring back the Personalize option. To do this:

You need to download and install the Personalization Panel.
Once installed, you’re supposed to see the the Personalize option when you right-click on the desktop. However, I still can not find it. If it happens to you too, just look for the Personalization Panel folder in Drive C: or wherever you saved it and double click Personalization.exe to launch the program.

To change the wallpaper, click Desktop Background.
You can also use Personalization Panel to personalize the theme, sounds, window color, and screen saver.

Do you know other programs or other tricks to change the wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition? I’m about to include Oceanis in this post however, my anti-virus detected a malware when I tried to install it that’s why I prefer not to include it just to be safe.

Twitter Friend Killer – Unfollow Those Who Do Not Follow You Back

Are you annoyed when some of the people you follow in Twitter do not follow you back? Do you want to kill unfollow them in just a few clicks? Check out Twitter Friend Killer, a twitter tool that will help you delete all friends that do not follow you back.

If you’re ready to start killing deleting your Twitter friends, download Twitter Friend Killer and install it.

Once installed, run the application. Enter your Twitter username and password. You can also add the usernames of some friends you don’t want to delete or you want exclude from the killing deleting process. When you’re ready, click Kill Friends.

NOTE: It will only delete those people who are not following you back not your entire Twitter friends.

Please keep in mind that Twitter Friend Killer is still in beta and could possibly be slightly buggy. Use it at your own risk and if you’re really desperate.

Microsoft Scalable Fabric – Cool Minimize/Maximize Effect For Windows

Microsoft Scalable Fabric is a cool software from Microsoft Research that gives a cool minimize/maximize effect for Windows. Instead of minimizing the window, Scalable Fabric will actually shrink it with a nice smooth effect and will be pushed at the side of your desktop. You can easily determine the window you want to maximize because each of them has a thumbnail. I know you’re excited to try it on your PC so I’m going to show you now how to use it. Check this out!

How to use Microsoft Scalable Fabric:

1. Download Scalable Fabric from the Microsoft Research website.

* You’ll be surprised to see that the program is only less than 1 MB.

* It works with XP/Vista/Windows 7

2. Once downloaded, install the program. Click Start –> Click Microsoft Scalable Fabric.

3. You’ll see a new icon in your system tray and that’s the icon for the Scalable Fabric.

4. Try to open a folder/program and minimize it and you’ll see a nice effect. When you minimize several windows, they will stack themselves at the side of your screen, but you can still see them clearly. When you hover over the shrunk window, the name of the window will be displayed.

5. When you first used the program, you’ll hear a sound effect every time you minimize/maximize a window. You can disable it by right-clicking on the Scalable Fabric icon in your system tray and click Configure.

Scalable Fabric is an awesome tool if you want to see a nice minimize/maximize effect for your Windows PC. This is also a great tool to impress your friends and family!

How To Install Vista Bubble Screensaver In Windows XP

A lot of my friends are asking me if it’s possible to install Vista bubble screensaver in their Windows XP and I tell them, “Yes it is!”. How to do that? Here is the simple process. But wait, before I give you the process, have you seen the Vista bubble screensaver? If not, here’s how it looks:

So what’s nice about this screensaver? Unlike other screensavers, when it appears you can still see your desktop. And it’s so relaxing when you look at it.

To install Vista bubble screensaver in your Windows XP:

1. Download the Vista Screensaver Ported to XP from Softpedia.

2. After downloading the file, extract it to C:\Windows\System32.

3. Go to your desktop, right-click and choose Properties. Go to Screen Saver tab and choose Bubbles.

* If the screensaver doesn’t show up, restart your computer.

If you’re experiencing problems installing the Vista bubble screensaver in your Windows XP, you can also try Flow Bubbles.
