PanicButton – Instantly Hide All Open Tabs In Just One Click

To all the guys out there, “have you ever been caught by your mom or your younger sister while watching some adult videos on the internet?” or “have you ever experienced being caught by your boss browsing Facebook while on duty?”. Those are just some of the most embarrassing situations I could think of that I don’t want to experience, ever. Luckily, I don’t have to panic now if ever I face those situations because there is an easy way to hide all the tabs at once in just a click of a button.

Panic Button

PanicButton is a Google Chrome and Firefox extension that lets you hide all the tabs at once just by clicking a single button or pressing a shortcut key. It is very useful for emergency purposes like when you want to quickly hide the Facebook tab when your boss gets near you or if you just don’t want others peeking at the websites you’re visiting.

Panic Button: how to use it?

PanicButton is very simple to use. To hide all the tabs, just click the red PanicButton once and it will turn green. To restore the tabs, just click the button again.

If you’re not comfortable clicking the PanicButton, you can activate the keyboard shortcut so it’ll be easier for you to hide all the tabs in an instant! Just right-click on the PanicButton then choose Options. From here you can also set a password to protect your hidden tabs. If you choose Yes, you’ll be asked for a password every time you restore the tabs.

Since the PanicButton icon is a bit attention-grabber, I recommend you just hide it after activation.

How To Bring Back The Old Facebook Chat

Who loves the new Facebook chat box? No one! I’ve already read a lot of complaints regarding with this new feature that Facebook has implemented. The new Facebook chat only displays your friends (online or not) whom you message the most instead of the complete list of your online/idle friends. If you miss the old Facebook chat and you want to use it again, here’s a very simple solution for that.

Bring back the old Facebook chat – Simple Solution

To bring back the old Facebook chat, we just need to install a script called Facebook Sidebar Chat Reversion to our browser. This trick has been tested on Google Chrome and Firefox only.

For Firefox users:

Make sure you have Greasemonkey add-on installed, if not, install it first. Restart your browser after the installation.
Install Facebook Sidebar Chat Reversion script.
Go to Facebook and check your chat box.

For Google Chrome users:

You don’t need to download Greasemonkey since the Chrome browser natively supports the extension. Just install Facebook Sidebar Chat Reversion and that’s it.

Now you’re Facebook chat box looks fantastic again!

The new Facebook chat could have been great if it really displays your friends whom you really talk to frequently. However, based on my experience, it doesn’t.

SiteLauncher – How To Make It Work With Firefox 5

SiteLauncher is a great Firefox add-on that provides a quick way to open your favorite websites using only your keyboard. However, the developer must have forgotten to update it to make it work with the latest version of Firefox. Thankfully, there’s a very simple way to make it compatible with Firefox 5.

Actually, I’m going to share two ways to you: easy and extremely easy. If you’re not that geeky, I suggest you choose the second way.

Make SiteLauncher work with Firefox 5 – the easy way

1. Download SiteLauncher and save it to your hard drive. (To download, right-click on the link and click Save-Link As)

2. Rename the extension from .xpi to .zip.

3. Open/double-click the ZIP file. (Do not extract)

4. Open the “install.rdf” file using Notepad then look for the text and change the version to 5.0 or higher (depends on which version you’re using) then save the file.

5. Rename the ZIP file back to .xpi and install the add-on by dragging it into the Firefox browser.

Google+Tweet – Full Featured Twitter Client Inside Google Plus

If there is Google+Facebook, an extension that lets you connect your Facebook to your Google+ account, of course there should also be one for Twitter.

Google+Tweet is another extension made by using CrossRider, the same tool that is used to create Google+Facebook. It integrates a full-featured Twitter client inside your Google+ account. And when I say full-featured, it really is packed with complete features that you won’t even need to visit the Twitter website anymore!

Just like Google+Facebook, Google+Tweet is also very easy to use and install. Again, it currently supports Google Chrome and Firefox only so make sure that you’re using one of them now. To start, visit Google+Tweet site and click the big orange button that says Get Google+Tweet.

If you’re using Firefox, you must restart your browser to complete the installation. If you’re using Chrome, you can go directly to your Google+ account. You’ll notice that there’s already a Twitter icon just beside the Facebook button (if you’ve already installed Google+Facebook) or beside the home button (if you haven’t installed the other extension yet). Just click the Twitter icon and you’ll be asked to sign in with Twitter to enable the integration.

Once you’ve authorized the app to access your account, you can now view your timeline, send tweet, share your location, share photos and videos, watch mentions, re-tweets, check your inbox, sent messages, favorite tweets, and much more!

Once you use this, you can now forget visiting Twitter.com. This is much better compared to the Google+Facebook extension because it allows you to do more things not just viewing your timeline and updating your status.

Google+Facebook – View Facebook Stream And Post Status Inside Google Plus

Google+ is undeniably one of the hottest topics on the web right now and if you don’t have an account there yet, you must hurry because all your friends are starting to migrate from Facebook to Google+! Just kidding! But seriously, I have some friends who are already rejecting Facebook when they started to use Google+. Some of them are just updating their FB status right within Google+. I repeat, right inside their Google+ account. How’s that possible?! Find out after the break.

Actually, I was also surprised and happy at the same time to see an extension called Google+Facebook that allows you to see your Facebook stream and update your status right inside Google+.

Google+Facebook is very easy to install. Currently, it only supports Chrome and Firefox so make sure that you’re using one of them now. To start, visit Google+Facebook site and click the big orange button that says Get Google+Facebook.

Once you’ve connected your Facebook account, you can now view your stream and update your status without the need to go to the Facebook website.

The sad part is that you can not like nor comment to any post.

Auto Skip Blogger Content Warning With Greasemonkey Script

Have you ever encountered a blog wherein you’ll be shown a warning page before you view its content? This warning page commonly occurs to Blogspot blog with adult contents and those which have been reported by other people. This is sometimes irritating because you have to click “I understand and I wish to continue” every time you visit those blogs. Luckily, there’s an easy way to bypass this and that’s by using a Greasemonkey script called Blogger Content Warning Autoskip II.

In order for you to use Blogger Content Warning Autoskip II, you must first install Greasemonkey on your browser. (For chrome users, you can automatically install the script)

Once the script has been installed, you can now visit any Blogspot blog without ever seeing the content warning page again.

16 Must Have Firefox Addons For The Best Browsing Experience

I’ve been a big fan of Firefox since the first time I used it. I really like everything about it especially its lightning speed and the wide choices of add-ons that you can install to improve your browsing experience. And speaking of add-ons, actually, for the past 3 years of using Firefox, I have used a lot of them and some even become my favorites.

Today, I’m going to show you the add-ons that really standout for me and that I can truly say, give me the best browsing experience.

1. QuickDrag – my most favorite add-on.

Eveything becomes so easy after installing QuickDrag. If you want to load URLs, just drag and drop it; if you want to do a web search of selected text on a page, just drag and drop it; if you want to save an image from a webpage, just drag and drop it. No hassle at all and it really saves your time!

2. AdBlock Plus

Do you hate the ads that you see on the web? Check out this add-on so you can regain control of the internet and view the web the way you want to.

3. Download Statusbar

Are you annoyed every time you download something and then the download window will popup? Now, there’s a better way to view and manage downloads straight from you status bar.

Download Statusbar is a handy dandy add-on that lets you view your downloads from a tidy status bar – without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing.

4. Greasemonkey

This add-on lets you boost your web experience by installing some JavaScripts. There are a lot of scripts available and you can find them at http://userscripts.org.

5. Menu Editor

This add-on lets you clean up your messy menu. It allows you to remove those options on your context menu that you don’t use often or you don’t need at all. You can also rearrange the items on your menu via drag and drop.

6. SiteLauncher

This add-on lets you quickly visit your favorite websites using only your keyboard.

7. SkipScreen

This add-on is a great tool that allows you to skip unnecessary pages on sites like RapidShare, Megaupload, zShare, Mediafire, and more.

8. WebMail Notifier

This add-on lets you check your webmail accounts and notifies the number of unread emails. Aside from your email accounts, it also supports Facebook, Twitter, and more by installing some scripts.

9. Spedr

I know that there are a lot of URL shortener add-ons out there but what I like most about Spedr is its simplicity. To shorten a long URL, all you have to do is just click its lightning icon in your address bar and once the icon turns yellow, it’s done already! It also copies the shortened URL to your clipboard automatically.

10. Organize Status Bar

If you’re using a lot of add-ons, I’m sure you’ll notice that your status bar begins to be filled up with tons of icons. Good thing there is Organize Status Bar which can help you clean and organize your messy status bar.

11. Google Shortcuts

Since I’m a big fan of Google, this add-on is very essential for me because it lets me visit any Google services like Gmail, Google reader, Google maps, Google calendar, and many more in a single click from my browser.

12. IE Tab Plus

This add-on enables you to use the embedded IE engine within tabs of Mozilla Firefox. It is not only useful for web developers but also for the normal users like us since there are some sites that only work properly when viewed in Internet Explorer like the Windows Update site, and etc.

13. Simple Timer + Clocks

This is a very important add-on for me because I always want to check the time whenever I’m using my netbook. Aside from the clock, it also offers count down/up, alarm clock, and calendar reminders.

14. Shareaholic

Since I’m an internet addict, every day I get to visit websites and articles that really “Wow” me and really caught my attention that’s why it’s very essential for me to have Shareaholic by my side that allows me to share interesting links to my Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and other accounts easily.

15. UsableHomeButton

How often do you use the Home button of your browser? Once? Twice? Thrice a week? If you find the Home button useless, it’s time you check out UsableHomeButton, an add-on that makes the Home button usable by linking it to the homepage of the current site.

16. FEBE

This add-on lets you back up your extensions, themes, bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers. (It’s always important to have a backup, right?)

That’s it! Actually, I still have some add-ons that I didn’t mention above like Alexa Sparky, Hide Caption, Fission, and Search Site but why I didn’t include them on the list? Because I can use Firefox without them, but those that are listed above, I can not.

How To Open Multiple Links In Firefox And Chrome At Once

There are times when we visit a website and we see a lot of interesting links, what we normally do is click the links one by one until we open all of them. But what if there are more than 20 interesting links on that website? Isn’t it a waste of time to click each of them? Good thing there are some extensions in Firefox and Chrome that allow us to open multiple links at once, thus helping us save our precious time.

How to open multiple links in Firefox:

1. Snap Links Plus

Snap Links allows users to open multiple links in new tabs by drawing a box around them. The links can also be opened in a new window, or copy it to clipboard, bookmark it or download the links instead.

2. Multi Links

Multi Links is more advanced than Snap Links because it adds extra options and features but in terms of ease of use or usability, they’re just the same. To open multiple links, just hold the right mouse button and draw a rectangle around the links – same with Snap Links.

If you want to change the settings of Multi Links, just go to Tools –> Add-ons –> Multi Links and choose Options. Here you can customize the look and feel of Multi Links by adjusting the colors, border styles, and more.

How to open multiple links in Chrome:

1. Snap Links Lite

If you enjoyed using Snap Links Plus in Firefox, I’m sure you will also love using Snap Links Lite in Chrome.

2. Linky

Linky opens all selected links that are currently highlighted in new tabs and what’s nice about this extension is that it warns you if there are more than 20 tabs that will be opened.

Multifox – Login With Multiple Accounts Simultaneously In Firefox

What do you do when you want to login with multiple accounts simultaneously? Maybe some of you are wondering, is it possible? Yes, it is really possible with the help of Multifox.

Multifox is a Firefox add-on that allows the users to connect to websites with different usernames, all at the same time! For example, if you have multiple Gmail or Twitter accounts and you want to check them simultaneously, just click “Open in a New Identity Profile” that will appear in the context menu once the add-on has been installed.

Each Firefox window, managed by Multifox, accesses an account without interfering each other.

To start using Multifox, all you have to do is install it and then restart your browser. Once your browser has restarted, you can now login with multiple accounts simultaneously. How? Just click “Open in a New Identity Profile” from the Context Menu or go to File then click “Open in a New Identity Profile”. You can also use the shortcut, just press (CTRL+SHIFT+M).

Each Multifox window is assigned with a number indicating the identity profile. If you need to access 5 Gmail accounts you will need 5 windows with different identity profiles.

If Firefox crashes, all the profiles generated by Multifox will be preserved when Firefox restores the session.
